Fresno County

Fresno County is an up and coming area in the central valley of California.  The area is primarily filled with farmland; towns like Selma, which is the raisin capital of the world.  There are many small farm towns surrounded by miles of orchards, vineyards, and dairies.  The urban centerpoint for this county is the city of Fresno.  Fresno has a population of over 430k people, making it the seventh largest city of California, larger than Sacramento.

The town is a gateway for travel north, south, and into the sierras.  Located exactly 3 hours from San Francisco and Los Angeles, Fresno sits in the center of the state.  There are three national parks that border Fresno County: Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and the Sequoia National Parks.  In the winter, Sierra Summit, a reputable ski and snowboard park located next to Huntington Lake is a little over an hours drive.  Three Major lakes are accessible within thirty minutes of Fresno: Millerton, Pine Flat, and Shaver.  The beach is also only two hours away, making Fresno one of the very few cities where a person can go skiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon.
